Additional Information for the SURVEYOR Check-It Kit

Thank you for your inquiry concerning SURVEYOR Check-It Kit that utilizes SURVEYOR Nuclease, a novel mismatch-specific endonuclease derived from celery, to detect PCR errors and mutations in genomic and cDNA clones. Transgenomic now offers SURVEYOR Nuclease in a kit format.

This kit is designed to produce SURVEYOR Nuclease cleavage fragments that are derived from mismatched DNA fragments. The cleavage products should be separated and analyzed using standard agarose gel electrophoresis methods.

Each kit contains:

  • SURVEYOR Nuclease S (formulated to produce digestion products for standard gel electrophoresis)
  • Stop Solution
  • Control Plasmids and Primers
  • User’s Guide

High throughput users can also purchase custom “bulk” preparations of SURVEYOR Nuclease S or other custom-made SURVEYOR Nuclease preparations.

Initially, we encourage you to purchase a standard kit for your specific analysis platform so that you can try it out in your own laboratory. Your results will allow us to design a custom package to suit your needs and specific platform. When agarose gel electrophoresis is being considered for the analysis of SURVEYOR Nuclease cleavage products, we recommend Transgenomic’s TransOneK and TransFive K agaroses which have an exceptionally low background fluorescence.

We also recommend T-Taq DNA Polymerase for colony PCR applications that generate amplicons that can be analyzed with the SURVEYOR Check-It Kit.
