In summary, the Corporate Buyer is responsible for purchasing assigned products company-wide and negotiate National and International contracts that generate cost-savings.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•Initiates purchase orders for all materials and services purchased for Transgenomic, Inc and Transgenomic LTD globally. Assures full competition and documentation of actions.
•Negotiates National and International contracts. Conducts bid openings; evaluates bids and proposals to determine responsive low bid; assures selection in accordance with established criteria.
•Negotiates with suppliers establishing prices, delivery, quantity, payment, scope of work, change orders; researches sources of supply; determines sole source validity and methods of procurement action. Meets and confers with current and prospective suppliers to determine supply capabilities.
•Administrates the Transgenomic Inc. and Transgenomic LTD Business Portal Electronic Purchase Requisition System, Purchasing and receiving procedures, and maintains the Vendor Files in Great Plains.
•Acts as a liaison between vendor and Department Heads for procurement procedures, order status, return of materials, and problem resolution; advises department of cost effective alternatives.
•Studies market prices, trends, and advancements applicable to Transgenomic activities.
•Reviews and closes open and past due Purchase Orders quarterly. This includes addressing discrepancies on shipments and invoices with vendors.
•Actively participate in continuous identification and implementation of cost reductions, and process improvements. Perform training and give work direction as needed
•Performs a variety of miscellaneous tasks as requested to ensure business and customer needs are met. Maintains and updates associated process documentation, participates in continuous process improvements and expense reductions, and ongoing training as required.
Education/Experience:
•College or university program certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
•Ability to proof read a wide variety of documents and understand general document quality attributes including format, completeness of content, good grammar and punctuation.
•Ability to multi-task and adapt to competing priorities while meeting deadlines. Attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines and productions schedules

In summary, the Laboratory Technologist will be responsible processing clinical –based test samples using standard operating procedures in accordance with CLIA regulations and will maintain accurate records related to sample processing as required. This is a high throughput environment which requires the use of liquid handling robotics and a LIMS tracking system
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•Process clinical-based test samples in accordance with approved procedures and regulations. Analyze and evaluate the DNA trace data and other data as needed. Operate various robotic systems involved in laboratory processing. Consult with lab management to ensure all tasks are completed in a timely manner and production goals are met.
•Ensure proper handling of samples related to receipt, storage, accessioning, and destruction including maintaining chain of custody. Responsible for proper tracking of samples through the lab using a LIMS system.
•Perform as needed nucleic acid isolation from whole blood, tissue, FTA, Saliva, and other source materials. Performs quantity and quality analysis of isolated products using UV spectrophotometer, gel electrophoresis, and other methods. Carries out procedures outlined in a written protocol for DNA Isolation, PCR reaction setup, sequencing or genotyping chemistry, DNA quantitation, and DNA precipitation, and DNA sequencing.
•Perform procedures using Universal Precautions with the appropriate Personal Protection Equipment and according to SOPs. Reports all incidents and deviations observed during laboratory processing.
•Perform routine maintenance and calibration on instrumentation. Perform general laboratory duties such as preparing stock solutions, sterilizing laboratory supplies, reagents, and disposing of wastes. Responsible for lab tasks/general cleanliness of work areas. Perform reagent testing when the tests are compatible with the production process. Request laboratory reagents and supplies as needed.
•Other duties as assigned
Education/Experience:
•Bachelor’s degree (Biology, Chemistry, or other related physical science); One year previous laboratory experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
•Previous experience in a laboratory setting either clinical or a production environment.
•Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload with competing tasks
•General familiarity with personal computers to include but not limited to Microsoft Office Products.
